Congratulations to Broker/Owner, Cliff Shillington, RE/MAX Kelowna whose $12,500 bid successfully out did the competition! This year’s glass panel titled “Wine Country” is very fitting for the Okanangan where so many award winning BC wines are produced. Linda carried her theme through the three day event with a fun competition that raised additional funds for CMN. The prize of a huge wine basket featuring Kamloops’ first winery, Harpers Trail went to Mona King of REMAX Nanaimo. A very successful REMAX event with over $72,000 raised for the Children’s Miracle Network.
Once I had all 200 pieces cut and copper foiled, the soldering begins. I attach them all together with hot solder on the front side, then the entire piece gets “gently” flipped to repeat the process on the back. Progress is coming along on schedule for the auction early February in Calgary. My title for this one is “Wine Country” featuring Lake Okanagan and the surrounding vineyards.
What an amazing bunch of students! These young people have taken the initiative to help collect toys for the “Toys for Kids” program so that other kids could have a happier Christmas this year. There is nothing like the smile on a child’s face at this special time and the smiles of these students really shows how happy they are to be able to share that joy with others. Together with RE/MAX, they are pooling their 124 toys to add to the River’s “Toys for Kids” breakfast on December 4th.
Great job, Dallas Elementary and Merry Christmas!!
I have been donating a scholarship to TRU for the past several years to help a student who is in their 4th year of business.
Congratulations to this year’s receipient, Samantha Messaros, finishing her 4th year Economics & Accounting at TRU. I was pleased to present my annual $1000 scholarship to her for excellant achievement. Samantha comes from 100 Mile House and her plans include her own wedding just a week away, a 5th year at TRU next term and a future in Elementary School teaching.
Good luck Samantha and Congratulations!
Here I go with this year’s window for the RE/MAX Western Canada convention for 2013. This year it will be held in Calgary in February. “Wine Country” is the theme so the RE/MAX and Children’s Miracle Network balloons fly high above lakes and vineyards. I was pleased to get some rare, one-of-a-kind, glass for this piece and very pleased with the effect it gives.
As promised, here is a picture of the window “in progress” to date with more to come. For those unfamiliar, this is window #11 and the total raised by my previous 10 windows for the Children’s hospital is $105,500. It sure makes me feel good to be able to help this way.
